When the print presses grind to a halt
Another excellent blog by a good friend of mine at the UK Spectator's Coffee House.
I've done a number of blogs highlighting the coming surge in inflation in the UK, as well as asking whether it was time for the UK to call in the IMF to sort out her finances. This is but another noteworthy piece about profligate government and fiscal irresponsibly on the Thames.
For those of you with a general interest in fiscal and monetary issues - especially pertaining to the UK's plight - I strongly recommend you following Mark Bathgate. Having had countless lagers with Mark over the last year or so, I can attest that this guy is usually on the money (excuse the pun) when it comes to said issues.
It goes without saying that I don't agree with Mark on everything. He's an avid Europhile in favor of joining the single currency as soon as possible (although with the UK's deficit they probably wouldn't have us) and I'm most certainly a Eurosceptic.
We've seen what will happen according to Mr Bathgate when the UK printing presses are turned off. As we've debated on these pages beforehand, it will be interesting to see what happens when the US printing presses run out of ink...
