Ethan Pollack is a Senior Policy Analyst at the Economic Policy Institute. Prior to joining EPI, he worked at the Office of Management and Budget and the George Washington Institute of Public Policy. Recently, he also worked as a Staff Economist for President Obama's National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, also known as the Deficit Commission or, in some crowds, the "Catfood Commission". His areas of research include economic recovery, budget and tax policy, and public investments such as transportation and energy. His approach to economic policy focuses on moving beyond "bubble economics" by promoting broad-based, sustainable economic growth. This means emphasizing jobs, median wages, public investments, and economic security. His work has been used in numerous publications, and he has appeared as a guest on CNN, Fox News, BBC World News, Canada TV, Russia Today, and WNYC. He also has strong feelings about Star Wars and sushi, which he will share if he can find a way to tie them to relevant fiscal policy issues.
